On Thursday 28 February 2008, BAPS UK was presented with the Heart Heroes Award by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) at their Central London headquarters. The BHF presented this Award to BAPS in recognition for the support given in 2007 to raise £25,000 through the 2007 BAPS Annual Sponsored Walk, to help further the work of the BHF which includes pioneering research, vital prevention activity and ensuring quality care and support for everyone living with heart disease.

"We are very pleased to honour the volunteers and representatives of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, for their fantastic efforts in raising the huge sum of £25,000 for the British Heart Foundation by organising a sponsored walk.  Not only did they heighten awareness of the need for healthy exercise to help protect the heart, but the funds they raised will help us greatly in the fight against heart and circulatory disease – still Britain’s biggest killer!"
